The Click Is the Product

This is a coin-sized metal body with a magnet-driven rotor inside. Flick it and the rotor turns against the magnet in a stepped, ratcheting motion - each step is a small click you can feel in your fingertips as much as hear.

The name comes from that motion. It feels like a tiny motor turning over: discrete steps, a faint click on each one, and a magnet that pulls the rotor back to a resting position when you stop.

How the Ratchet Feels

• Stepped, not smooth - the rotor advances in small increments rather than spinning freely. That is what makes it satisfying to work through with one thumb.
• Audible but not loud - you will hear it at a desk. It is not the piece to bring into a meeting where nobody is speaking.
• Self-returning - the magnet pulls the rotor back when you let go, so there is nothing to reset.

Why It Is Coin-Sized

At coin scale it lives in a change pocket or a card sleeve and comes out without looking like you are reaching for a toy. It is small enough to work one-handed inside a pocket.

• Amber - the standard translucent amber body. You can see the rotor turn.
• Ice Blue - the same build in translucent ice blue, shipped with a UV light.
• Limited Edition - celadon green, ink black, bordeaux red and ice crystal. Small runs, and they are not restocked once they are gone.

About the UV Light

The ice blue version ships with a small UV light. Shine it on the body and the translucent shell picks up a visible glow that fades over a few minutes. It is a party trick rather than a feature, but it is the reason to pick the ice blue over the amber if you use it in the dark.
